Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Daily Rituals ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. We take your privacy seriously: all data stays on your device.
What data the app stores
Daily Rituals stores the following data locally on your device using Android's on-device storage (AsyncStorage):
- Journal entries you write
- App settings and preferences
- Streak counts and habit records
- In-app Embers balance and unlocked cosmetics
There is no account system and no server. We cannot read, access, or recover any of this data. If you uninstall the app or clear app data, this information is permanently deleted from your device.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- The content of your journal entries
- Location data
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Advertising identifiers
We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or third parties.
Subscriptions (future paid features)
The current version of Daily Rituals is free. A future update may introduce an optional paid Plus subscription. When that feature is enabled:
- Subscriptions are processed by Google Play (Android). Google's own privacy policy governs your payment information; we never see your payment details.
- Subscription status (whether you have an active Plus subscription) is validated through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat receives purchase tokens and an anonymous device identifier solely to confirm your subscription status. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
- No journal content or personal data is sent to RevenueCat or Google Play.
Until paid features are enabled, no payment data is collected or processed by this app at all.
Third-party SDKs
The app is built with Expo / React Native. When paid features are active, it includes the RevenueCat SDK for subscription management (see above). No other third-party SDKs that collect personal data are included.
Children's privacy
Daily Rituals is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
